If you are a member of the laughably misnamed general public, I wonder whether or not you are aware of what happened this weekend?
Were you informed about the riots in Santiago Chile on the anniversary of the start of the repressive (US backed) Pinochet regime?
Or the demonstrations including the burning of a government building in Thessaloniki Greece, during which the Black Bloc apparently received major crowd support?
These were both large, tens-of-thousands-strong events. Did you see anything about them on the SABC news? Or hear about them on Radio 702's Eyewitness News? No? Read about them in the Sunday broadsheet? No?
I wonder why.
I wonder why we continue to give even tacit support to any mainstream, capitalist led media sources at all, sometimes.
